Addyson's Room Reveal

After 3 months in our new home Addyson's room is done!
Here's what it looked like when we bought the house:

She requested a pink and purple room but I decided to classy it up a bit and go with a coral and lavender color scheme, with gold accents.
Here is the design board I put together for her room
 And here it is complete!

The headboard, side table and dresser were all found on Craigslist,
and I refinished the side table and dresser.

The coral duvet and shams are from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child
and they are lovely!
They also are a perfect match to the Caitlin Wilson Berry Fleur Chinoise fabric
which is what really tied the whole color scheme together.

The gold heart art was a little DIY I did, and it took 20 minutes to put together.
And the curtains are Serena and Lily fabric that I sewed myself.

The mirror was a Homegoods buy that I've had for months and couldn't wait to use in her room.

This is the dress that she was blessed in as a baby, and it has hung in all of her rooms

And here she is, enjoying an afternoon tea party in her new space

She loves it and tells me that almost every day

This cute little rug was also a Homegoods find and went great with the color scheme

And here is my happy little client, loving her new pink and purple room!

And here's an obligatory before and after of the space

What do you think?  Pink and purple success?

I am also currently booking online design clients for October, so
if you're interested then send me an email!

Dresser Love

I recently convinced my mom to let me have these dressers for our new house.
They used to be my grandmas and I wish I had a before picture of them.
There are two of them and they were cherry wood with hutches on them.
My mom had painted them white and my parents used them
as side tables in their previous home.
But since moving two years ago they had been stashed in a basement
guest room and weren't getting much use.

With a fresh coat of paint and new hardware they have a new life, and have
been passed down another generation.

They are my favorite pieces I've transformed so far,
and you can't beat $40 for a set of antique dressers.

Office Update

Just wanted to stop in and do a little update on my office situation.
If you remember, I shared this design board for the space a few weeks ago.

Well the desk, shelves, and bulletin board have been installed and
now I just need to purchase the chair and some accessories!

Quite the transformation from when we purchased the house
I'm glad that the red is gone, and now I have a calming space to design in.

Now it's time to put this space to use!
I'm currently booking clients for September and October,
so email me if you are interested.

Wallpaper- Good vs. Bad

This is an example of BAD wallpaper.
This is the wallpaper that is currently haunting me in my kitchen.
I would really like to know why this 80's wallpaper was installed
in my house that was built in 2000.
I am slowly removing this wallpaper and hoping it will be a
faint memory by next month.

And this is an example of GOOD wallpaper...

Serena and Lily just launched their wallpaper line and it is lovely!
The "feather", which is their herringbone/chevron-ish pattern is lovely.

And the stripes that can be installed horizontally or vertically is also a fave of mine!

So there you have it, just when I thought I hated wallpaper,
Serena and Lily changes my mind!
Although I still hate my wallpaper.

H&M Home Design Board

H&M recently launched their Home department and I decided
to do a design board with some of my picks.
The prices on these items are all under $30 a piece!
This would be great in a dorm room or in a young girls room.

Head on over to H&M Home and see what other great items they have!

Also, follow me in Instagram at @simplesagedesigns
once I reach 50 followers I will be doing a Design Board giveaway ($100 value)
