My Baby is 4

My favorite girl turned 4 today.
She made me a mommy 4 years ago, and I love her for that.
Being her mom sure has it's challenges, but it is also such a blessing.

Here she is at her first birthday
We went all out and celebrated surviving our first year!

Then she turned 2, she was the cutest 2 year old ever!
And once again we had quite the bash to celebrate!

Then she turned 3
And we had a fiesta with lots of friends

And now she is 4, I can't believe my baby is 4!
We will be spending our day eating donuts, wearing Twinkle Toes,
going to Build a Bear, having dinner at Steak and Shake, and playing at
the arcade and anything else this little 4 year old wants to do.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Addyson!

Etsy Sale

All pillows in my Etsy shop are on sale.
I'm trying to make room for some new inventory and want
to sell these first!

Happy weekend everyone!

Eli's Nursery- Phase One

Remember when I shared this design board for Eli's nursery?
Well, phase one is complete and I'm beyond happy with it.
I made the crib skirt out of one of my favorite Suzani fabrics,

ordered the Rug from Rugs USA,
and that cute print is from Hello Maypole, the proceeds
of the prints went to help Connecticut families.
I also sewed the little chevron pillow out of some left over fabric I had.

And here is Eli, enjoying his new room, and his Happy Factory truck.

This little man is six months now, but acting like a nine month old.
He's crawling and trying to stand!

And he is not a fan of sitting still for pictures

And since Ad was feeling left out, we let her join in on the picture taking.

The room is complete for now,
we will wait to do the rest when we move in 5 months.

Let's take a vote

I can't decide between an upholstered headboard
or an antique iron headboard painted a fun color
for Addyson's new room

What do you think?!

Charming girls room

I pinned this girls room last year and loved every single thing about it.
I was happy to see it in the January issue of Better Homes and Gardens.
To me it is design perfection.  It's girly, but sophisticated, traditional,
with a few trendy touches, and absolutely charming.
It is one of my all time favorite girl bedrooms.

The designer, Darlene Weir, shares some design tips over at BHG
She tells you to:
first- determine your style words
second- study favorite pictures
(Pinterest makes that easy these days)
third- determine your favorite colors
fourth- have the guts to decorate with your signature style

My Favorite Room in the House

Addyson's  room makes me happy.
But I'm getting excited to design her new room already!

Slipcovered Rocker

I have always wanted an upholstered rocker for my nursery but never
wanted to pay the price for one. (This one retails for $550 at PBK)

But when ugly thing showed up on my local Craigslist for $30
I didn't even think twice!

For quite a while it sat in my room with a sheet over it because
I was too afraid to tackle the project on my own.  But with LOTS
of help from my mom, and $20 worth of fabric we turned it into this!

I absolutely love it and still can't believe we managed to
pull it off!  And for $50?! Can't beat that!

Cheery Kids Room

Here's a little sneak peak of a bright and cheerful kids room I'm currently designing.
A sweet little brother and sister will be lucky to call this their own soon.
